{"id":1119,"date":"2025-01-30T21:18:25","date_gmt":"2025-01-30T21:18:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aerenlund.org\/?p=1119"},"modified":"2025-01-30T21:19:10","modified_gmt":"2025-01-30T21:19:10","slug":"where-to-place-the-mineral-wool-in-cavity-for-a-sound-absorption-ceiling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aerenlund.org\/?p=1119","title":{"rendered":"Where to place the mineral wool in cavity for a sound absorption ceiling?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Does it matter where we place the absorption material in a suspended sound absorption ceiling?<br><br>In short: Yes<br><br>In not so short: Say we have a suspended wood wool board ceiling, and we want to utilize the acoustic ceiling for good sound absorption, then using mineral wool on the cavity is a fairly simple way to increase sound absorption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/aerenlund.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/absorption_cavity_1.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1120\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>However, the position of the mineral wool in the cavity may significantly impact the sound absorption (especially the lower frequencies).<br>Typically, for optimal sound absorption, placing the mineral wool right on top of the wood wool board can be the best bet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Unfortunately, this may not be a one-size-fits-all for all situations. Especially in situations where the cavity is used to store a fairly complex network of technical equipment.
