IsoCal App

An acoustic prediction tool
Take the guesswork out of building acoustics

Check it out on App Store

IsoCal App for acoustics lets you quickly, with the help from analytical theory, predict sound insulation and sound absorption coefficient amongst other variables.

IsoCal App for acoustics is made by Emil Ærenlund – Msc. Physics and Technology

“IsoCal App was a needed addition in my daily work. I regularly use software to calculate acoustic parameters, like the sound reduction index of partitions. But as I used these tools, I couldn’t help but worry about what happens in the ‘stomach’ of the software. So I started researching in order to create a tool of my own to help verify the software calculations.

As a civil engineer, you always have to somehow verify your calculations, one way or another. Either by comparing to real world constructions/scenarios, or do physical tests yourself.”

– Emil Ærenlund

  • IsoCal app is very fitting for engineers, architects and anyone else with interest in acoustics
  • Design and test your construction in seconds
  • View the acoustic behaviour to avoid expensive and unforseen consequences later on
  • expand your acoustic knowlegde

Let IsoCal take care of the calculations and leave you with the results, so you can keep focusing on your design.

Acoustics isn’t just about mathematics and physics, it’s also about creating a space that sounds as good as it looks!

Version 1.5.4 – Jan 26, 2026

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where critical frequencies [fc] below 50 Hz and above 5000 Hz in some cases would result in a crash

Changes

  • Technical updates in order to future proof code

Version 1.5.1 – Sep 4, 2025

Changes

  • Added a button to Copy data in the ‘Absorption’ calculation module. The Copy data button is located underneath the Single Number Rating
